DATA-DRIVEN INSIGHTS ON THE AMAZING THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN YOU MEDITATE
In this eBook I share insights from a first of its kind quantitative research study I conducted with Unplug Meditation that shows how meditation helps you stress less, sleep sounder have greater mental and emotional well-being, better handle life’s difficult challenges and cultivate character. Whether you are new to the world of meditation or are looking to reinvigorate or deepen your practice, this book will inspire you to go inward.
HOW BENEFICIAL IS MEDITATION REALLY?
There are countless books and articles on the internet, anecdotes from philosophers to neuroscientists that talk about why you should meditate and the benefits you will experience. As someone who was a complete non-believer meditation skeptic turned Unplug meditation teacher, I have experienced the transformation of meditating first hand. My anxiety no longer controls me, years of insomnia and Ambien are a thing of the past, my brain is calmer and clearer, and my emotions don’t bully me. I am more me, possess a stronger mindset and am living a more mindful fulfilled life, on purpose with purpose.
My story is one of many that supports the advantages of meditation, but I wanted to contribute more substantiated information to the discussion and so did Suze Yalof Schwartz, founder of Unplug Meditation, the world’s first secular meditation studio. We partnered together to dive deeper into the benefits of meditation.
INSIDE THE BOOK
We conducted a study among the Unplug Meditation database as well as a national panel of non-meditators to gain understanding in different areas like stress and emotional well being. We also segment those who meditate into different groups based on frequency and duration of meditating to tease apart any patterns or differences.
It’s not enough to share the benefits our research supports without sharing the how, how does meditation help you destressify? How does it lead to feeling more joy and at ease with less fear and overwhelm? As I reveal insights I’ll share the how, the ways meditation helps you develop a mindful mind, emotional agility, a more relaxed physical response and different character traits. We”ll also explore the misconceptions around meditation, what it is and what it is not and how to be “good” at meditating. Lastly, I”ll share some of the remarkable science that our findings support.
